1. What does Whakamana Limited do?
Whakamana Limited is a Māori and Pacifica-owned construction and development company. We build homes, develop land, provide scaffolding and civil services, and run employment and training initiatives through our group of companies.
2. Where do you operate?
We currently operate in Hawke’s Bay, Gisborne, and Auckland. We have the capacity to build and manage projects across Aotearoa.
3. Who is part of The Whakamana Group?

4. Do you help people get into their first home?
Yes. Through Investia Limited, we offer the Te Ara Kainga program — helping first-home buyers with mortgage support during their first 12 months of ownership.
5. What is the Trades United Initiative?
It’s our employment and procurement program that supports local SME trades to work on major projects. It also offers transitional work and training opportunities for youth and the unemployed.
7. Can I get a quote for a house build or land development?
Absolutely. Contact us via our Contact Page or email admin@whakamanaltd.co.nz with your project details and location. We’ll set up a consultation.
8. Do you work with schools or students?
Yes. We run trade gateway and apprenticeship programs in partnership with schools like Flaxmere College, helping students gain real-world experience and NZQA-accredited credits.
9. Are your homes eligible for KiwiBuild or government support?
Yes. Many of our homes meet the eligibility criteria for KiwiBuild or other housing initiatives. We also support Māori-led housing partnerships and iwi development projects.
